Ani Garaventa

Growing up in Oakland, California, sports were always a big part of Ani’s life. After playing soccer, baseball, volleyball, and running cross country, Ani found the game of basketball and was hooked. Ani first coached basketball in high school during her team’s fundraiser camp, after which she happily worked summer camps every year. Ani went on to play college basketball at San Francisco State University from 2015-17. After college, her former high school coach at Piedmont High School, CA, asked if she would help with the high school tryouts. That led to her coaching the JV team, as well as coaching youth teams and clinics from 2017-2019. Since moving to Seattle Ani has continued to coach and train both youth and high school level players. Ani coached at Roosevelt High School (Seattle, WA) for two seasons, and was the 2022-23 JVC Head Coach and current Varsity Assistant at Ballard High School.

“I want to share all that I learned from my high school coaches about how to get to the next level. They gave me so much, leading by example, showing how to play and coach the game the right way. They also taught me so many life lessons, the main one being the sense of community, so being able to give back and help the next generation is something that gives me a lot of joy. Helping someone on the basketball court work to achieve their dream of playing in high school or college, or running a summer camp that introduces basketball or other sports that I've spent hours playing growing up -  this is why I started A.T. Training.”
